Welcome to the official website of Dallas Brass Band. Established in early 2017, the band is based on the British brass band tradition and has quickly established itself as one of the finest ensembles in the DFW Metroplex.

The Dallas Brass Band will perform at the first ever Texas Brass Festival! The concert program concludes with a mass band of over 100 musicians on stage from the finest brass bands in the state of Texas! More details located on our events page!

DALLAS BRASS BAND TO CELEBRATE 5th ANNIVERSARY WITH CONCERT


Dallas Brass Band will host a special concert on Sunday, October 2nd 2022 at 2.30pm to celebrate its 5th Anniversary. The concert will feature guest soloist Owen Farr, widely regarded as one of the finest tenor horn players of his generation. The venue will be Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75220. The band will feature a wide ranging program, including some music it played at its very first concert!

DALLAS BRASS BAND CROWNED NATIONAL FIRST SECTION CHAMPIONS

April 29th, 2022


The band is delighted to have won the North American Brass Band Championships (NABBAC) First Section. This is the first time in its five-year existence that the band has entered a contest. Under the direction of its Principal Conductor Prof. David Childs, the band scored the highest points total of any band in the competition, winning by nearly four clear points.

The band will performing for the first time at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) on Thursday, February 10th 2022. It will be holding a clinic, led by Dr. David Childs and Dr. Daniel Cook, in the Stars at Night Ballroom, Henry B. Gonzalez Center.

DALLAS BRASS BAND PERFORMS AT CHRISTMAS WITH THE SALVATION ARMY

The band performed at the annual 'Christmas with The Salvation Army concert at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 5th 2021. This was the first time the event had happened for two years due to the pandemic. The band has enjoyed supporting the event for the past few years.

CHILDS AND COOK FORM NEW LEADERSHIP TEAM

Dallas Brass Band has announced the appointments of David Childs as its new Principal Conductor and Daniel Cook as Resident Conductor.


David Childs was appointed Professor of Euphonium at the University of North Texas in 2018. He is regarded as one of the finest euphonium players of his generation and is developing an outstanding reputation as a conductorDaniel Cook is currently on the faculty at the University of North Texas where he conducts the Wind Ensemble, teaches conducting, and serves as the Director of Athletic Bands. Daniel has completed coursework toward a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at Northwestern University. He holds his Master of Music degree in Conducting from the same institution.
